The Baru or Cumbaru is a fruit from the "baruzeiro" tree, imponent native tree from brazilian Cerrado.The Baru contains around 26% of protein, more than bahia coconut, brazilian nut or cashew nut. The fruit may be fully utilized, producing pulp, oils, flour, butter and cakes. It is associated to aphrodisiac and fortification properties. Containing predominant unsatured fat acids this light-yellow and aromatic oil has anti-reumatic properties and may be utilized in the manufacturing of perfumes, soaps, shampoos and moisturizers creams delivering good aroma, lubricity and emollient.
